ANTIPAROS TODAY
Every year Antiparos welcomes thousands of tourists that arrive here to admire its famous cave, its archaeological sights, the excellent views that it offers, the clear wonderful beaches, picturesque paved streets, fresh fish and grilled octopus, wonderful wines and the local «tsikoudia» (traditional spirit).
On the island, there are several bars, coffee shops, taverns, an open air cinema, infrastructure for sea sports and possibilities for spear-fishing (especially between Sifneikos Yalos and the camping site).
One of the important sea life habitats found on this Cycladic island belongs to octopus, which is also a delicacy found at local restaurants which is dried and grilled and served as a side dish for Ouzo.
A lot of the inhabitants are farmers and shepherds who use the fields found on the nearby islands of Diplo (aka Kato Fira) and Despotiko as grazing fields.
